Welcome to NEXT. We are a new music show on the radio with a very simple goal – find you a NEXT, new favorite song.

May NEXT find a song that makes your ears smile. Enjoy it all. And may the forces of evil become confused on the way to your house.

Without music to decorate it, time is just a bunch of boring production deadlines or dates by which bills must be paid. ― Frank Zappa

Let’s try and #BeMoreKind. Let’s – together try to do something good. What do you say. This week (and every week?) –  It’s a simple good deed -> Let’s see what happens. Thank you and Enjoy It All.

Music can make your day.

One song playing at the right moment, perhaps with the right cup of coffee (or tea or beer or bourbon – you get the idea) in your favorite mug, the sun coming through the window, can really make life worth living. Or the sun is going down. You put on a favorite song to get ready for the night. Yes, music can make your day. Or change it.

We here at NEXT think that songs are the oxygen for your spiritual lungs.

To that end, we wanted to share a few new works of music to brighten your day and share the good word of composition.

So, with that in mind, here are new songs for you today.

There’s an easy way to get a look inside someone:

One glance at someone’s music playlist is like a window into their soul. The variety of artists, genres, age, and albums of music they enjoy reveal a lot about their personality. People usually listen to music complimentary with their inner selves.

Yes – music as a cheat code.

The connection between music and the body was first recorded by Plato (428-347 BC) when he said – Music gives wings to the mind.

There is no denying that music has a power over us. A simple melody can make us laugh or cry or both. A harmony from a familiar song can trigger memories of good times and bad times. A catchy line can make our feet tap or heads bob without even knowing it.

All we have to do is allow the sound waves to hit the ear for a swift journey to the brain and, just like that, rhythms, tones and lyrics translate into an emotional reaction that can feel as tender as a hug. In an era when suffering and uncertainty is plaguing our community, nurturing that special, easy relationship between artistic sounds, our bodies and our minds may be more important than ever before.

People have a direct experience with music throughout their lives and humans throughout human history have had a very close personal relationship with music The first sound we hear is our mom’s heartbeat in the womb. Our hearing is the sense that is used first. We hear the world we enter before we see it.

Music is Life. And new music keeps you young at heart. And keeps your mind nimble. It’s science. Do the google if you don’t believe me.

Let us support these bands. Even something as simple as buying an album, or a ticket to a show, or a tee shirt. And if you can buy directly from them. Even better. Thank you. And if you see me at a show…I’ll buy you a beer. Enjoy it all

Thank you for listening.
