Hello new music lovers. Welcome to NEXT. We have a simple goal: Find you a NEXT, new favorite song. #NextFavoriteSong

“Music can name the unnameable and communicate the unknowable.” – Leonard Bernstein

This week…it’s our look back.  The last Wednesday of every month we collect a few of our favorite songs.  It’s our notable songs of the month.  A review.  A rewind.  A reminder of what we played on NEXT during said month.

New music makes you feel good

Music, especially a new song you really like, can make your brain really happy. But, as we get older and enter adulthood, the routine of life can become void of those emotions. … When we listen to genres of music we like, pleasure centers in our brains connected to strong emotions light up

Listening to new music is what we do all day here at NEXT. But it isn’t always easy. Sometimes (OK, a lot of the time) it can be tempting to just throw on an old favorite rather than dig into something fresh

What was your favorite song of November that NEXT played?

Music is Life. And new music keeps you young at heart. And keeps your mind nimble. It’s science. Do the google if you don’t believe me. If you want to keep your brain engaged throughout the aging process, listening to or playing music is a great tool. It provides a total brain workout. Research has shown that listening to music can reduce anxiety, blood pressure, and pain as well as improve sleep quality, mood, mental alertness, and memory. Thanks for listening to NEXT and you’re welcome.

It was tough before Covid 19. Now more than ever we need to support these bands. Even something as simple as buying an album, or a ticket to a show (when live music comes back or if they are hosting online events), or a tee shirt. And if you can buy directly from them. Even better. Thank you.

Spotify playlist updates on Thursday(ish). Link to Chris Bro on Spotify.

  • Hey Chris, you might want to check your podcast setup. I assumed you stopped posting stuff a while ago because neither stitcher or PlayerFM shows any new episodes from you since January 2019.

    • Thanks Cosmo. I’m going to email you. Just to let you know it’s not by accident. I had to. There’s the spotify playlist…I hope that helps.
