Another glorious year of new music.

Thanks for listening.  I hate this time of year and every year I promise myself that I’m going to stay on top of the end of the year list.  I never do.  Maybe for a month.  Two if I’m lucky.  Then this week peeks it’s head over the horizon.  Balls.  I need to get 5 weeks of music ready.

During the weekend I listen to loads of music.  At least, I’m good enough to put all our Notable Songs at the end of month into a playlist.  This year.  277 songs were in that playlist.  After one listen through I get the general idea of where most of the songs will be placed.  Then.  I start on the weekly show breakdown.

Then…the worst.  And this is why I don’t like this time of year…I put together the show.  And every week of these 5 weeks I hear at least one song  that I should have placed higher.  Really there’s about 15 or 16 #1 songs and bunch of top ten.  Maybe 30 or 40 of these.

So when you listen to this week…try to figure out which songs Chris wishes he placed higher but now there’s no time or room to move them.

Thanks again for listening.  Hopefully you have all year but whenever you make it back to NEXT.  Thank you.  Enjoy it all.

Next is your place for new music discovery. This week we look back. A quick rewind. A review of the past year.  Holy balls.  What a brilliant year for new music lovers. As always, our goal is to find you – a NEXT, new favorite song. Let us know how we are doing. If we, in fact, do find you a NEXT, new favorite song. Also, if you wouldn’t mind sharing it with the class. I always like to hear what you like to hear. Does that make sense?

Glorious noise from: The Regrettes, Animal Years, Hailey Knox, Billie Ellish, The English Beat, Lissie, The Revivalist, Dreamers, Pearl Jam, The Temperance Movement, Young Fathers, The Nude Party, Lake Street Dive, Sunflower Bean, White Denim, The Kooks

Thanks for listening and thanks again to ocean 98 for putting next on the radio.

New music discovery is important and thank you for doing your part.

Please support these bands…or we wouldn’t have bands like this around to support. Buy an album, or a ticket to a show, or a tee shirt, or…something from them. Thank you.

If there are any bands/managers/labels etc that want their music removed (for any reason) please contact me (chris at allthingsnext dot com) and I’ll promptly remove it. Thank you, bands, for making music. Thank you for making my life better because of the music you make. I am a passionate music consumer as are my listeners. If you think NEXT streaming music is bad please think it over again. I am a music maker advocate.

Spotify playlist updates on Thursday. Link to Chris Bro on Spotify.
