Earlier this month, my 9 year old said he wants to help people who are hungry by holding a food drive on Halloween.  He said it’s not fair that some people don’t have enough food to eat.  I agree.  So we printed up fliers and put them in our neighbors’ mailboxes and when he goes “trick o treating” for candy on October 31st, he will also be collecting food donations for Fred’s Pantry of Peekskill.   I also extended a request to my friends and family outside of our neighborhood for food and/or monetary donations to help my son in his cause.  Coincidentally, just yesterday, this article was posted in The Journal News about the hungry in Westchester.

If you are able to help with Joey’s Halloween Food Drive, please consider making a monetary donation to Fred’s Pantry at this address:

Caring for the Homeless of Peekskill, Inc

200 North Water Street

Peekskill, NY 10566

You can also bring food donations to them at that address.  They are in need of cereals, oatmeal, powdered milk, soups, vegetable oil, canned vegetables and fruit, etc.  Tell them Joey sent you.   Thank you.
